Achieving “Success” is Simple

Let’s call point A the “start” and let’s call point B “the goal”. Now, how do we get from where we are now, to where we want to be?

Simply put, it is “action”. But the problem is, we delude ourselves, make excuses, and overcomplicate things. Hence, all the plans and dreams that have remained on the back burner for 1, 3 maybe even more than 10 years.

Many people say they want to be great. But what separates the 1% from the rest is simply the willingness to make the sacrifices necessary to achieve. In other words, “action”.

Example: If we want to lose weight, then we need to have a calorie deficit.

Instead of eating healthy and excercising we…

  • delude ourselves saying that we’re only going to eat bad just this one time.
  • make excuses about not working out
  • overcomplicate things by looking at surgical options or new fad diets instead of putting in the work

Example:If we want to have another income source, then we need to invest our time into making it happen.

Instead of educating ourselves and starting our business we…

  • delude ourselves into believing you’ll start tomorrow
  • make excuses about not having enough time
  • overcomplicate things by wanting things to being perfect from the beginning

The idea that it simply requires “action” to achieve our goals is nothing new. The simple idea has been given different names and has been reiterated through time:

“To get what you want, you have to deserve what you want. The world is not yet a crazy enough place to reward a whole bunch of underserving people.” — Charles T. Munger

“Great things come from hard work and preseverance. No excuses”. — Kobe Bryant

“It’s not about money or connections — it’s the willingness to outwork and outlearn everyone” — Mark Cuban

“What you don’t sweat out when you’re young will turn into tears when you’re old”. — Japanese Proverb

“Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come”. — The Rock

“If you work hard and meet your responsibilities, you can get ahead, no matter where you come from, what you look like or who you love”. — Barak Obama

“If people knew how hard I work to achieve my mastery, it wouldn’t seem so wonderful after all”. — Michelangelo

You know who you want to be the and the life that you want for yourself. Today is the opportunity for you take a step closer into achieving your success.

So take the step, make the time, and change your life.

Stop accepting your current situation.

You have everything you need to build the life that you want.

Let me leave you with one last quote,

“Just do it”. — Nike
